Sister began her teaching career in Canada in 1945, as a 1st through 7th grade teacher in a one room classroom. Feeling called to the religious life, she entered the Monastery of the Sisters of Our Lady of Charity in Hot Springs in September of 1953. She continued her teaching career, working with the elementary grades and the kindergarten in particular. Her last year of teaching was in 2002 She kept a journal with the names of all the students she had taught. All in all, she taught 111 students in Canada and 1,148 students in the United States.
Other than teaching, sister was proficient in art, sewing, gardening and carpentry. Her skills will be greatly missed. Sister was very generous with her time and was always ready to aid others in their needs. She served as superior for several terms, Assistant superior for three years + and as novice mistress for two years.
Preceding her in death, were her parents; two brothers, George and Charles; and two sisters, Sr. Victoire
and Sister Mary Anne.
Sister Theresa leaves behind her two sisters, Fernande and Sister Mary Gerard; and several nieces and nephews.
We want to thank the staff Of Arkansas Hospice who walked her journey with her in compassion and love. Special thanks to Laura, Johnnie Mae and Cheryl for their constant support. A very special thank you to the Threshold Choir, who brought so much joy to Sister and to all of us.
