Obituary of Thomas J. Fox

Gross Funeral Home

Thomas Junior Fox, 89, completed his earthly journey on September 20, 2022 with his family by his side. The oldest son of Thomas Orbie and Zora Dell Fox, Tom was born on February 21, 1933 in Kirby, Arkansas. He is predeceased by his parents and five siblings: Charles, Bobby, Mike, Verdene, and D.A. Fox. Surviving family members include Peggy, his loving wife of 67 years; his sister, Shirley Johnson (Jackie); his sons Roger Fox and Wayne Fox (Susan); his daughter, Nancy Bradbury (Bill); his grandchildren are Kala Fox (Steve Christensen), Brittany Fox (Nick Kamas), Kyle Bradbury (Sarah), Drew Bradbury (Abby), Thomas Hudson (Tiia), and Alyse Hudson. Great-grandchildren are Ethan and Eva Christensen, Victoria Hudson, Eloise Bradbury, and Martin Kamas. Tom was reputed as one of the best in his field as a hardworking and dedicated member of Sheet Metal Local #36 for 42 years. A lover of the outdoors, Tom enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, mowing grass (yes), bird-watching, and more. His myriad interests and hobbies included woodworking, metal crafting, trying to grow the world’s largest tomato, story-telling, and even taxidermy for a while. He was proud of his service in the United States Army and his role in active duty during the Korean War, and he was proud to be an American and the rights veterans like him have assured the rest of us. A former member and deacon at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church and a current member and inactive deacon at Red Oak Missionary Baptist Church, and in the spirit of the true believer he was, Tom lived not only for this life but also for the next one. Reverend Michael Howell will lead the service for family and friends. Pallbearers will be Bill, Kyle, and Drew Bradbury; Phillip Howell; Lloyd Reynolds; Steve Christensen; Cliff Goins; and Jackie Johnson. Honorary pallbearers are Steve Fox, Bobby Fox, Gary Fox, Ethan Christensen, Steve McGuire, Raymond Crouse, Mike Kelley, and Jimmy Gray. Visitation with family will be at 9:00 a.m. prior to the memorial service at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 23 at Gross Funeral Home, 120 Wrights Street, Hot Springs. The family offers special thanks to Teresa Powell and Superior Senior Care; Anita Kane, Hospice Nurse with Dierksen; Elijah Pricop and Nicholas Myers with Seniors Comfort Assisted Living, especially Nicholas for his untiring, exceptional, and unprecedented love, care, and concern.
