Troy Hogue, 73, of Hot Springs, Arkansas passed away on August 2nd, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones.
Troy was born on May 17th, 1953 in Little Rock, Arkansas to Mary and James Hogue. He grew up in Sardis and attended Bryant High School until he got his GED and enlisted in the Air Force.
On September 26th, 1990, Troy married Cindy. Together, they shared 35 years of marriage and built a life filled with love, laughter, and family.
Troy spent many years working as a painter and carpenter. He was dedicated to his craft and took great pride in providing for his family.
Troy was a devoted member of LakePointe City Church and cherished the friendships and community he found there.
Troy enjoyed hunting, spending time outdoors, watching westerns, and cheering on the Arkansas Razorbacks. Above all, he cherished his family and especially loved spending time with—and spoiling—his grandchildren. Though he would never admit it, he also looked forward to the holidays and all the traditions that came with them. He fully embraced his nickname, “The Grinch,” proudly owning several Grinch T-shirts and never missing an opportunity to play the part. Beneath his gruff exterior, however, his family knew the holidays held a special place in his heart.
Troy will be remembered for his faith, strength, humor, unwavering work ethic, devotion to his family, memorable one-liners, and the fact that he never met a stranger. If you ever came to him carrying a heavy heart, you rarely left feeling the same. More often than not, he would lift your spirits the only way he knew how—by giving you a hard time, picking on you just enough to make you laugh, and reminding you that things would be okay.
Troy is survived by his beloved wife, Cindy; his children, Chris, Jeremy (Amanda), Brian, Stephanie, and Staci; his grandchildren, Kami, Macey, Adalyn, Kimberly (Dave), Rebecca, Ethan, Kayla (Matthew), Allison, and Andrea; and his great-grandson, Keaton. He also leaves behind many beloved extended family members and cherished friends whose lives were forever touched by his love, humor, and kindness.
Troy was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and James Hogue, as well as his siblings, Ann Lattin, Charlie Hogue, and Wayne Hogue.
A private family visitation will be held on Monday , August 10, from 1:00 to 1:30 p.m., followed by a public visitation from 1:30 to 2:00 p.m. at LakePointe City Church. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 10, at LakePointe City Church with Pastor Greg Bearss officiating. Burial will follow at Gravel Hill Cemetery in Benton, Arkansas.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at UAMS Cancer Institute, as well as Dr. Kumaron and his team, for their exceptional care and compassion. They are also deeply thankful to the staff at Home for Healing, whose love, kindness, and unwavering support brought comfort to Troy throughout his final months.
Though Troy will be deeply missed, his love, faith, and legacy will continue to live on through everyone whose life he touched.
