Buddy is preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Susan Ellis Goodrum; his father, Dr. William A. “Bud” Goodrum; his mother, Winnie Waites Greutter; and his stepfather, Dr. John Greutter.
He is survived by his sons, William A. “Skip” Goodrum, III (Courtney) of Fayetteville, AR; Richard A. Goodrum (Sara) of Fayetteville, AR; Michael W. Goodrum (Jeanne) of Deridder, LA; seven grandsons Patrick, Aidan, Jake, Chase, Graham, Matthew and Aaron; three granddaughters Annabelle, Holland and Mattie; and his brother, Randy Goodrum (Gail) of Fayetteville, Arkansas.
Buddy was a lifelong resident of Hot Springs. After graduating from Hot Springs High School in 1960, he attended the University of Arkansas and Henderson State University. His career as an industrial engineer in Hot Springs and Little Rock lasted over thirty years.
An avid classic car enthusiast, Buddy owned, restored and collected American hot rods his entire life. He was an antique gun collector, loved riding the backroads of Arkansas with his sons and friends in Jeeps, enjoyed studying Civil War history and visiting battlegrounds, and had an encyclopedic memory of Western Movies. He was involved in scouting with all three of his sons and hosted many campouts with his friends.
