

Alvin Smith entered eternal rest surrounded by the love of family and friends. He was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, faithful church member, and a friend to many whose life touched countless hearts.
Alvin was united in marriage to the love of his life, Louise Rounds-Smith, on January 25, 1997. Together they shared 29 wonderful years of love, companionship, and cherished memories. He enjoyed spending time talking with family and friends and was known for his warm spirit and caring heart.
He was a faithful member of New St. Matthews Missionary Baptist Church, where he loved fellowshipping with his church family and community.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories his beloved wife, Louise Rounds-Smith of Thibodaux, Louisiana; one son, Alvin Campbell of Thibodaux, Louisiana; three daughters, Angela Smith of Thibodaux, Louisiana, Alison Smith of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and Vanessa McBride Wilford of Thibodaux, Louisiana; two sisters, Jennifer McIntyre and Mary Mahoney of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; 9 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; his godchild, Kenna Nelson; aunt, Fanny Zachary; sisters-in-law, Shirley Rounds and Mary Rounds; brothers-in-law, Stanley Rounds, Gerald Rounds, Calvin Price Sr., and Edward Rounds Jr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Mahoney; his mother, Corrine Smith; his brother, Eugene McIntyre; his sister, Lisa Price; his grandchildren, Devontae Rounds and Rashard Rounds; his nephew, Carnell McIntyre; his grandmother, Geneive Smith; his grandfather, Nolan Smith; his mother-in-law, Nancy Collins-Rounds; his father-in-law, Edward Rounds Sr.; his sisters-in-law, Rose Brown, Classy Rounds, Stella Lenoir, and Mary Rounds; and his brothers-in-law, Stanley Rounds, Gerald Rounds, and Edward Rounds Jr.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until funeral time at 11:00 AM at Jones Funeral Home Chapel, 230 South Hollywood Road, Houma, Louisiana 70360. Interment will immediately follow the service at New Saint Matthews Baptist Church Cemetery in Matthews, Louisiana.
