Betty Jean Howard Riley

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2026, from 9:00 A.M. until the funeral service at 11:00 A.M. at Jones Funeral Home, 230 S. Hollywood Road, Houma, LA 70360. Interment will follow in Deweyville Cemetery.

Betty leaves behind a loving and devoted family who will forever cherish her memory. She is survived by her brothers: James Howard (Lorenda), Jeronne Howard (Cheryl), Jason Howard (Dr. Cheryl), Jerrol Howard, Jonathon Howard (Elizabeth), Junius Howard (Linda), and Jermaine Howard; her sisters: Beverly Castillo, Barbara Howard, Brenda Porter (Melvin), Dr. Glenda Patterson; and Mary Patterson her godchild, Erika Fazande.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Sr. and Annie Riley Howard; her brothers, Joseph Howard, Jr. and John Howard; her paternal grandparents, Bond and Aleam Howard; and her maternal grandparents, Thomas and Julia Riley.

Betty received her primary and secondary education through Terrebonne Parish School System. Graduate of Class of 1970 Terrebonne High school. She was employed by Terrebonne Parish Sheriff Office, (eleven years) and Ross Dress For Less "Lead stock head" for (twenty-one years).

Betty's catch phrase throughout her life was "You know me!"
