With heavy hearts and deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Brian Da’ Vonte Holmes, a beloved son, grandson, brother, and friend. Brian departed this life far too soon, leaving behind cherished memories and a legacy of love that will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
A faithful member of Mt. Vernon Methodist Church in Gray, Louisiana, Brian lived with cerebral palsy---a condition that shaped his journey but never defined his spirit. With grace and quiet strength, he faced life’s challenges head-on, inspiring those around him with his resilience, warmth, and unwavering love for family. He was a young man who valued family, embraced community, and carried himself with endearing humility.
Brian is survived by his devoted parents—father, Ryan Harris; mother, Delores Holmes; and stepfather, Louis Robertson. He was a loving brother to Dazmon and Damaris Holmes, and a caring stepbrother to Malik Robertson, Raheen Robertson, and Louis Antoine. He also leaves behind his stepsister, Lakia Robertson; his grandmother, Dorothy Holmes; and his grandfather, Melvin Harris, Sr., all of whom held him close in their hearts.
He now joins in eternal rest his grandfather, Leross Jenkins, and his great-grandparents, Mary W. Holmes and Benny Holmes, who preceded him in death.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2025 from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Mount Vernon Methodist Church, 101 Gray St., Gray, LA 70359. Funeral services will begin at 10:00 AM, with burial to follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Gray, Louisiana.
Brian Da’ Vonte Holmes will be remembered for his gentle soul, his unwavering love for his family, and the quiet joy he brought into every room. Though his time with us was brief, his impact was profound. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
