

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, March 27, 2015 at Magnolia United Methodist Church, 104 Johnson Ridge Lane. Public viewing will be conducted from 9:00 a.m. until funeral time at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at Moses Baptist Church, 1032 Canal Blvd., Thibodaux, LA 70301. Burial will follow in Blue Lily Cemetery.
She is survived by: her husband of forty-four years, Thomas Aaron Moore; a daughter, Raenice Janelle Moore; her mother, Esther Redmond Stewart; ten sisters, Doris Jones Price (John), Lucinda Redmond Williams, Claudette Jones, Sandra Bolding McMiller (Bobby), Antoinette Cormier (Lionel), Claudia Jones Thompson (Frankie), Susie Foucher (George, Jr.), Colette Stewart Smith, Joyce Chandler (Leon, Jr.), and Loyce Gunn (Bruce); three brothers, Elder Davis Stewart, Jr. (Beverly), Curtis Stewart and Robert Stewart (Kally); a goddaughter, Iesha Johnson-Cooks; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by: her father, Claude Jones; stepfather, Davis Stewart, Sr.; and sister Lisa Jones.
Carolyn was the first African-American student to graduate from Terrebonne High School in 1967. She attended Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, LA, earning her Bachelor of Arts degree in 1975, Master's of Education degree plus thirty graduate hours in 1978. She was employed by the Terrebonne Parish School Board for over thirty-six (36) years providing excellent service to the public school system as a educator at the Schriever Elementary School.
