Charles Cornelius Verdine, Jr

Charles Cornelius Verdine, Jr., age 78, a resident of Carson, Calif., and a native of Morgan City, La., died June 28, 2012 in Carson, Calif. Visitation will be at Jones Funeral Home in Morgan City, La., Wednesday, July 11, 2012 from 9:00 AM until funeral service at 10:00 AM. Burial will be in the Morgan City Mausoleum. On April 12, 1934, Charles Cornelius Verdine, Jr., was born to the union of Charles Cornelius Verdine, Sr., and Hazel Tibbs Verdine in Morgan City, La. Charles served two terms in the United States Army. The East St. Mary Veteran Funeral Squad will perform at graveside. Charles leaves to cherish his memories; his loving and devoted wife of 56 years, Gladys Singleton Verdine of Carson, Calif; two sons, Chris Verdine and wife Denise Verdine of Los Angeles, Calif., and Craig Verdine, Sr., and his wife, Sylvia Verdine of Patterson, La; three sisters, Mrs. Donald (Maryann Verdine) Wade and Carol Verdine Johnson both of Los Angeles, Calif., and Jennifer LeBlanc of Houston, TX; two brothers, Gerald (CarolSue) Verdine and Russell Peter Verdine both of Carson, Calif; three grandchildren, Brittany Verdine Talbot and husband, Toby Talbot of Houma, La., Craig Verdine, Jr., of Patterson, La., and Kalani Verdine of Atlanta, GA; and a host of relatives, nieces, nephews and friends. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Hazel Verdine, one sister, Caroline Verdine and a brother, Andrew Verdine.
