Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until Funeral Service at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 30, 2024 at New Zion Baptist Church 263 Grand Caillou Rd. Houma, Louisiana, with burial following at New Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.
Cheryl Ann Williams Celestine was born in New Orleans on February 1, 1962 to Herman Sims II and the late Melvina Williams. She was a member of New Zion Baptist Church in Houma, LA.
Cheryl was educated in the Terrebonne Parish public school system. She married the love of her life, Alton Celestine Sr., on September 30, 1978. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
During her life Cheryl worked in food sales, as a caretaker of the elderly and was an awesome homemaker. During her spare time, She enjoyed laughing, spending time with her family, listening to music, gardening, cooking, fishing and crafting. Cheryl was kind, selfless and loving, and she was someone you could always depend on in times of need.
She leaves to cherish her memories her loving husband, Alton Celestine Sr. of Houma, LA; her children; Alton Celestine Jr., Amos Celestine Sr., Auriell Celestine and Avian Celestine; her father, Herman Sims II of Houma, LA; her sisters, Crystal Williams White (Eugene) of Houma, LA, Trina Williams Mack (Gregory) of Mississippi, Ashley Sims and Kiley Sims both of Gibson, LA; her brothers, Herman Williams III, Hosea Williams, Cornell Williams all of Houma, LA ,Corey Sims of Gibson, LA and Darrell Sims of New Orleans, LA, she is survived by nine grandchildren and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Cheryl was preceded in death by her mother Melvina Williams; her brother Timothy Williams; her maternal grandparents Hattie Williams and Calvin Rutledge; and her paternal grandparents Herman Sims and Emma Johnson Sims.
