With hearts full of love and gratitude for a life well lived, we celebrate the homegoing of Donald Wallis, who departed this life on April 19, 2026, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, at the age of 77.
Donald was born on March 29, 1949, in New Orleans, Louisiana, and was raised in Houma, Louisiana, where he built a life rooted in strength, resilience, and unwavering love for family.
A dedicated professional, Donald worked at Measurement Technology and was a well respected professional. He was known for his leadership, steady work ethic, and the quiet strength that made him someone others could depend on without question.
Donald was a proud and devoted father to Donald D. Wallis (Zenovia), Corey Owens (Rosalind), Chantell R. Wallis, Krystal L. Turner (Clint), Kristie Mitchell, and Claudia Keaton. He was a loving grandfather and great-grandfather to a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also shared a long and meaningful relationship with Carolyn Owens, with whom he created many cherished memories.

Donald also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews, extended family, and friends who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.
To know Donald was to know a man of strength, wisdom, and deep love. He found joy in life’s simplest but most meaningful moments fishing at sunrise, hunting, working on cars, and gathering with family around the grill. He loved good food, especially deer meat, and even more than that, he loved the people he shared it with. His life reflected hard work, loyalty, and a deep devotion to family.
He was loved deeply and will be missed beyond measure but his legacy lives on in every life he touched.

As we honor his life, we hold on to the promise of scripture:
“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.”
— 2 Timothy 4:7
And in his spirit, we remember these words:
He was the steady hands, the guiding light,
The quiet strength in every fight.
With love so deep and roots so strong,
He built a place where we belong.
Though he rests, his work is not done,
He lives in us, in everyone.
In his own voice of wisdom, we hold onto what he lived by:
“Don’t cry—celebrate the life I’ve lived.”
