Earl Matthews, Sr., a native St. Joseph, and resident of Franklin, died Friday, Jan 21st at 1:50 PM at his residence. Visitation will be held Friday, Jan 28th at Park Ave Church of Christ on 321 7th St. Franklin, La., 70538 from 10:00 AM until funeral at 2:00 PM. Burial in the Franklin Cemetery. Earl leaves to cherish his memories, his six sons, Clarence Charles Matthews of Indianoplis, In., Reginald Paul (Mary)Matthews of Battle Creek, Mi., Leonard John (Vivian) Matthews of Houston, Tx., Earl (Ira) Matthews, Jr. and Gerald Lynn Matthews both of Atlanta, Ga., and Phillip Morris Brown of Wilwaukee, Wi; one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Billie Jean Matthews)-Delasbour of Franklin; twelve grandchldren, eight great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. Earl was preceded in death by his parents, John Matthews and Rebecca Latham Matthews, and his wife, Ida Mae Petrie-Matthews and brothers and sisters.
