Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until 10:30 AM on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church, 1100 Bourbon Street Thibodaux LA 70301. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow in St Bridget Catholic Church Cemetery, 100 LA 311, Schriever, LA 70395.

Earnest is survived by his wife of 40 years, Irene Thomas; his sons, Earnest ( Linda) Thomas Jr, Tyrone (Latanya) Williams, Raymond (Erica) Williams, James ( Albertina) Thomas and Arnesto (Brennaisa) Thomas; his daughters, Sonja (Earl) Travis, Gina T. Maul, Carolynn (Preston) Hopkins, Shearton (Rene) Jones and Valerie Brown; his sister, Rosa Carter of Virginia; thirty-nine grandchildren, forty-two great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Earnest is preceded in death by his parents, James and Mary Lamar Thomas; his daughter Carmen Thomas his grandson Darnell Jackson three brothers, James, Grey, and Clifton Thomas; one sister, Margaret Morten; his father-in law and mother-in-iaw, Rev. Roland Livas and Julia Navarre Livas.
