

Elaine Trosclair Bailey was born to the late Reverend Clinton Trosclair Sr. and Muritta Watson Trosclair on April 26, 1953, in New Orleans, LA. On May 3, 2020, Elaine departed peacefully at her home surrounded by her family. She grew up in Bobtown, Grand Calliou with her sisters and brother. Elaine saw her future husband at a wedding and she said, “That’s going to be my husband.” After a three-year courtship, Elaine Trosclair married Wallace Bailey, and they started a family. During her life, Elaine devoted herself to her family, but she also had her own goals in life. She worked to attain a Cosmetologist certificate and opened her own hair salon. Later, she became an assistant manager at Pizza Hut. She was a dedicated member of the Morgan City congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. In her spare time, Elaine loved to sew, crochet, and garden. She enjoyed a full life surrounded by a host of loved ones.
She leaves behind her devoted and cherished husband, Wallace J. Bailey, Sr. of Morgan City; two daughters, Juanita Bailey of New Orleans, LA and Kristina Boone of Patterson, LA; four grandchildren, Kayla Bailey of Morgan City, Wallace Bailey III, Darian Bailey, and Ariana Bailey all of Houma, LA. She left behind a daughter-in-law, Suzanna Gregoire Bailey of Houma, LA and a son-in-law, Aaron Boone of Patterson, LA. She also leaves behind four sisters, Romona Trosclair of Morgan City, LA, Jacqueline Trosclair of Murrieta, CA, Cynthia Trosclair of Houma, LA, and Ezella Brown of Houma, LA. Her family also includes five sisters-in-law, Drucella Bailey, Elizabeth Bailey, Barbara Bailey, Peggy Bailey, and Dwana Bailey. She also had three brothers-in-law, Wilson Bailey Sr., Jessie Bailey, and Robert Brown. Lastly, Elaine was loved by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. Elaine was preceded in death by: her two children, Wallace Bailey Jr. and Margaret Bailey: her parents, Reverend Clinton and Muritta Trosclair; her two brothers, Clinton Trosclair Jr. and Basil Trosclair; one sister, Iris Iona Boyd, a mother-in-law, Mary Bailey; a father-in-law, James Bailey and four brothers-in-law, Arthur Bailey, Clarence “Frank” Bailey, Willie Bailey, and Carl Bailey.
In an effort to comply with the CDC recommendations to cancel/postpone events with 10 or more people, and state officials imploring people to stay home and limit social interaction. A private service will be held. Burial will be in the Morgan City Cemetery.
