Elijah Peters, age 77, a native of Verdunville, La., and a resident of Franklin, LA., died Saturday, June 2, 2012 at 8:35 AM at Franklin Foundation in Franklin, LA. Visitation will be Saturday, June 16, 2012 at Jones Funeral Home in Franklin, La., from 9:00 AM until funeral service at 11:30 AM. Burial will be in the Little Zion Cemetery in Verdunville, La. Elijah leaves to cherish his memories; five sons, Elijah Peters, Jr., of Sacramento, Calif., Kerry Peters of Verdunville, La., Christopher Peters of Tucson, Arizona., Kennedy Gunner of Franklin, La., and Eddie Wayne Campbell of Texas; two daughters, Jeanette Peters of Franklin, La., and Lucinda Parker of Patterson, La; one sister, Ruby Moore and one brother, Charles Peters both of Franklin, La; sixteen grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and a host of relatives and friends. Elijah was preceded in death by his parents, Louise Perro Peters and Elijah Peters, Sr., his wife, and a brother.
