Galen "Gee" Verdun

Visitation will be observed on Saturday June 12, 2021 from 10:00 AM until 11:45 AM at the St Jules Catholic Church in Franklin, LA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 Noon with Father Peter Emusa serving as the Celebrant. Full Military Honors will follow the mass services. 

Galen enlisted in the United States Army and was later discharged, receiving a Honorable Discharge. 

Memories of Galen will forever remain in the hearts of his children, Aja Nicole Verdun of Berwick, LA, Darien Verdun, Azireion Verdun, and Genesis Verdun; mother, Patricia Verdun; siblings, Hayward A. Verdun, Jr. all of Verdunville, LA, Deon (James) Coates of Cincinnati, OH, Terrance Verdun of Bakersfield, CA, Shannon Verdun of Verdunville, LA, Courtland (Meacco) Verdun of New Orleans, LA, and Victoria (Kim) Provost of Baldwin, LA; grandchildren, Aubrey Verdun and Kal-el Todd; three aunts, Rosemary Smith, Ruth Sterling, and Judy Milton; two uncles, Howard Smith, Jr. and John Ray (Denna) Smith; devoted friend, Felicia Rachel of Alexandria, LA, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.   

Galen was preceded in death by his father, Hayward A. Verdun, Sr.; paternal grandparents, Charles E. Verdun & Tessie Taylor Verdun and maternal grandparents, Howard Tyler Smith, Sr. and Mildred Smith.
