Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until funeral time at the church. The funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at New Magnolia Baptist Church, 412 Highway 311, Schriever, LA 70395. Burial will follow in Halfway Cemetery.
He is survived by: his former wife, Barbara Walker-James; one son, Herbert James, III.; one daughter, Catina James-Neylon (Jerry); one sister, Patricia James; one grandson, Jaquil James-Neylon; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Herbert, Sr. and Albertha Cheatham-James; one granddaughter, Trinity James; and two sisters, Betty James and Shawn Noah.
