Joseph "Joe" Charles, Sr.

Visitation will be observed on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at the First Jerusalem Baptist Church 835 Monnot Rd. Jeanerette, LA 70544, from 9:00 AM until until 11:00 AM A Celebration of Life, celebrating the life of Joseph Charles, Sr., will begin at 11:00 AM with Reverend Arthur Lee Alexander officiating the services. Burial will follow in the Macedonia Church Cemetery of Ashton, LA.

Precious Memories of Joseph will forever remain in the hearts of his loving wife of fifty-three years, Edna Lockette Charles of Four Corners, LA; three sons, Joseph Charles, Jr. and Bernard Charles both of New Iberia, LA and Earl Charles of Four Corners, LA; four daughters, Doris Sutton of Houston, TX, Sarah Marks and her husband, Bernard of Baton Rouge, LA, Roxanne Charles of St. Martinville, LA and Patricia Charles-Taylor of New Iberia, LA; four brothers, Edward Charles, Jr., Roland Charles, Sr. and his wife, Mary Alice, and King Charles, Sr. and his wife Patricia all of Four Corners, LA and Leonard Ray Charles of Dallas, TX; five sisters, Martha Charles and Evelyn Simpson and her husband Donald, Doretha Turner, and Ellen Lewis and her husband, Barry all of Houston, TX and Verna Jennings and her husband, Percy of Chicago, IL; twenty-eight grandchildren, thirty-two great-grandchildren and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who realizes that Earth has no sorrow that Heaven cannot heal.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Louretha A. Charles; one son, Mark Charles; three brothers, Roy Charles, Lawrence Charles, Sr., and Percy Charles, Sr. and two sisters, Doris Spencer and Delores Coleman.
