Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until funeral time at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at St. Luke Baptist Church, 3755 Bayou Black Drive in Houma. Burial will follow in the Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Roberta Sims Poindexter; daughter, Justina Richardson; brothers, Isiah Poindexter (Elsie), Ronald Poindexter (Mona), Curtis Poindexter (Louise) and Sterling Poindexter; sisters, Mary Lee Poindexter, Sharon Davis, Emelda Baxton, Brenda Joseph and Alice Washington (Gary).
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph, Sr. and Lula Mae Boloney-Poindexter; sisters, Glora Lee Poindexter and Ruth Ann Thompson.
