Joseph Rodney Williams, Jr., 76, a native of Houma, LA, and a resident of Terrebonne Parish, LA, transitioned peacefully on August 17, 2026.
Joe Jr. was a hard working, dedicated man who lived his life with integrity, strength, and purpose. He was well known and respected throughout the community for his strong work ethic, dependable character, and willingness to help anyone in need.
Joe Jr. took pride in providing for his family and leaving a legacy of love, honor, and hard work that will live on forever.
He is survived by his two daughters, Cheryl M. Lewis and Renasha M. Williams; four sisters: Juliette Williams, Veraniece Williams, Joe Ann Pollard (Joseph Pollard), and Tanya Myles; and four brothers: Willie Falls, Bobby Williams, Gregory Williams, and Andy Williams; brother-in-law, Bennie Williams; and sister-in-law, Harriet Williams; six grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren; one loving aunt, Vera Harris, and a host of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives, and friends.
Joe was preceded in death by his wife, Janice M. Bass Williams; his parents, Joseph Rodney Williams Sr. and Geraldine James Williams; one daughter, Sandra Shephard; five brothers: Robert Lee Williams, Edward Charles Williams, Milton Lamar Williams, Lloyd Matthews, and Michael Falls; one sister, Barbara Williams; and one nephew, Robert Lee Short.
