A public viewing will be conducted from 8:00 a.m. until funeral time at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 30, 2021 at Jones Funeral Home chapel, 230 S. Hollywood Road, Houma, LA, 70360 (Per CDC regulations/local requirements all visitors must wear face masks at all times in building). Burial will follow in Crescent Farm Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Leslie Scott Johnson; sons, Nykee N. Johnson, Sr. (LaWanda) and Kevin G. Johnson; daughter, Kalin L. Johnson; eight grandchildren; one great grandchild; mother-in-law, Willie Mae Delores Lewis; brothers, Sherman (Bertha), Robert Lee and Isiah Lawson, Sr., and Thomas Joseph: sisters, Peggy Lyons, Gwendolyn Smith, Debra Curney (Walter), Victoria Richardson (Larry), Monique Williams and Regina Lewis; sister-in-law, Andrea W. Lawson; aunt, Alice Johnson; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Amy Johnson Woolens; father, Elijah Lawson, Sr.; maternal grandparents, James Johnson and Sara Sims; siblings, Elijah, Jr., Zilton, Sr., and Clarence Lawson, Betty Mae McGuire, Petronella Shelvin and Olivia Anderson.
