Kim Theriot

Kim Darnell Theriot was born on March 9, 1960, at Charity Hospital in New Orleans, Louisiana, to Mildred Theriot and the late Calvin Castle, Jr. On Sunday, August 24, 2025, at 7 pm, he peacefully entered into eternal rest. At an early age, Kim accepted Christ and was baptized. He received his education at St. Lucy Catholic School, Terrebonne High School, and later continued his studies at Katie’s School of Beauty Culture and Barbering. Kim dedicated many years of service to UPS and found great joy in his work as a barber, where he worked alongside his father and his nephew, Jerren Castle.

Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until Funeral Service 11:00 AM at New St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church 2766 Hwy 311 Schriever, LA 70395. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery 3658 West Main St. Cemetery Gray, LA.

He was known for his dancing, love of football, passion for cars, and his fly sense of style. Kim will be remembered as a loving son and brother, as well as a devoted father and Pawpaw.

Cherishing his memory are his mother, Mildred Theriot, his former wife, Linda Shephard, six daughters, Renee’ Castle (Valeshia), Latoya Shephard (Quintion), Precious Shephard (Mack Thomas), Kimberly Shephard (Tramone), Tyese Shephard (Samuel Williams III), Adasha Shaw (Cedric), four sisters Lori Sims (Jessie), Lagena Castle, Virginia Castle, and Twyla Johnson, twenty-two grandchildren, four great - grandchildren, two nephews, one niece, and a host of extended family and friends.

Kim was preceded in death by his father, Calvin Castle Jr., maternal grandparents, Webster and Virginia Douglas Theriot; paternal grandparents, Calvin Castle Sr. and Leola Lyons Castle; his sister, Marion Stevenson; and his grandson, Quinten Westbrook.
