

Services for Loretta will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at Jones Funeral Home, 230 S. Hollywood Rd. Houma, La 70360 with Visitation from 9:00AM to 11:00AM. Funeral Services will begin 11:00AM in the funeral home. Burial will follow at PTR Cemetery, Wallis St., Houma, LA (Deweyville).
Loretta was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, whose passing leaves a legacy of love, warmth, and devotion. Born to the late James and Nancy Swing Harvey, Loretta was educated at Southdown High School in Houma, Louisiana, and went on to build a life rooted in service, family, and faith.
She worked many dedicated years as a Food Service Technician, where her kindness and work ethic touched many lives. Loretta was a faithful member of Word of Deliverance Church of Raceland, Louisiana, and her spiritual foundation guided her throughout her life.
Loretta found joy in dancing, cooking, listening to music, and embracing her role as a devoted housewife. Her home was a gathering place filled with laughter, good food, and the warmth that only she could provide.
Loretta is survived by her loving spouse, Gary Thomas of Raceland, LA; her son, Dwight Harvey (Monica Trahan) of Raceland, LA; her brother, James Harvey of Lockport, LA; and her sisters, Constance Harvey of Lake Charles, LA, Regina (Daniel) Martin of Berwick, LA, and Lynette (Samuel) Brown of Raceland, LA. Loretta’s legacy extends to her 19 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and her cherished friends Debra Woods and Pam Wallace.
She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Nancy Swing Harvey; her daughters, Karen Harvey and Nancy Ray; her granddaughter, Shaquilla Harvey; her great-grandson, Sekani Harvey; her brothers, Wayne Harvey and Paul Harvey; her sisters, Bonnie Harvey, Jeanette Harvey, Janice Jackson, and Linda Singleton; her maternal grandparents, Arthur Swing Sr. and Ruth P. Harris; her paternal grandparents, Charles and Ida Joseph Harvey; and her godson, Omar Harvey; and goddaughter, Angela Johnson.
Loretta’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Her kindness, strength, and beautiful spirit will continue to be felt for generations.
