Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until funeral time at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 8, 2017 at Beacon Light Baptist Church located at 4325 West Park Avenue in Gray, LA. Burial will follow in Halfway Cemetery.
She is survived by her son, Cortaz Taplet; daughter, Cheryl Matthews; two grandchildren; one great grandchild; brothers, Christopher Harris (Kenya), Andrew Matthews and Herbert Matthews; sisters, Sylvia Brown (Kevin), Darlene McGuire (Clarence), Diana and Bernice Matthews; and a host of other friends and relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elvin and Zenobia Matthews-Harris; brothers, Alvin, Stafford and Ronald Matthews.
