Melvin Charles, age 64, a resident and native of Four Corners, La., died Monday, September 26, 2011 at his residence at 9:40 AM. Melvin was a veteran of the United States Army. Visitation will be at Jones Funeral Home Chapel in Franklin, La., Saturday, October 1, 2011 from 8:00 AM until funeral service at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in Macedonia Cemetery. Melvin leaves to cherish his memories; his wife, Dianna Alexander Charles of Four Corners, La; one son, Kwane Charles of Fort Worth, TX; one daughter, Kara Charles of Four Corners, La; seven brothers, Arthur Charles, Jr. (Annie Mae Brown) of Four Corners, La., Henry (Fannie) Charles of Franklin, La., Clifton Charles of Morgan City, La., Thomas (Mary) Charles, Claude Charles, Milton Charles and Wallace Charles all of Houston, TX; four sisters, Annie Mae Smith of Jeanerette, La., Corstinee Robertson of Four Corners, La., Lelia Charles of Baldwin, La., and Selina Charles of Franklin, La; five grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
