

She was a teacher at Oaklawn Junior High School and Bayou Cane Adult Education, as well as, co-owner of an education consulting business, White and Murry’s Consulting Group. Michelle had recently retired from Chabert Medical Center where she was a telecommunications operator for over twenty years. Michelle was a 1973 graduate of Terrebonne High School, 2008 graduate of Southern University at New Orleans with her bachelor’s degree, and completed her Master’s of Arts degree also from Southern University at New Orleans in 2010.
She leaves behind a legacy to her son, Darrell J. Murry (Jondra) of Houma, Louisiana and her daughter, Chelsea Lynne Murry, Ph.D. of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; two sisters, Juanita Ezell of Houston, Texas and Lurlee D’Ann Lewis of Richmond, Texas; two grandsons, Jahon and Jayce Johnson, two special great-great nieces, Xylaina “Pearl” and Demi Stoves, and a host of cherished family, friends, and loved ones.
Michelle preceded in death by her son, Chad Michael Pierre-Murry, her sister, Anita “Neet” Stoves, her mother, Rosemary Leola Brown, her grandparents, Dorothy Durkins-Brown and Wash Brown, and great grandparents, Willis, Sr. and Sarah Wilson Durkins.
Her Celebration of Life will be held at Plymouth Rock Baptist Church on Saturday, July 5, 2025, at 10am. Public viewing will be at 8am until funeral time. Burial will follow in Deweyville Cemetery.
