Mona Louise Johnson

She leaves to mourn her husband of 47 years, Stanley Johnson; a daughter, Genkius Johnson Morgan (Tory); two sons, Gentry Keon Johnson and Gerrod Karnell Johnson (Miranda); four Grandchildren, Jada Johnson, Jaden Johnson, Mila-Rose Johnson and Maliyah Johnson; two great-grandchildren, Kaycen Cooper, Za’riyah Johnson; a sister, Marian Dumas (Walter) and five brothers, Richard Green (Patricia), Cary Matthews (Juanita), Tyrone Matthews (Tasha), Jeffery Matthews (Kema), Kenyoda Matthews (Erika). A host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Mona was preceded in death by her parents, Oliver Donald Matthews Sr. and Gustavia Williams Matthews, a brother Oliver Donald Matthews Jr.; a sister, Patricia Ann Matthews and a granddaughter, Jalaya Toren Morgan.

A visitation will be held on January 17, 2026, from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at Triumph Baptist Church, located at 6313 Bayou Black Dr, Gibson, LA 70356.

Following the visitation, a Celebration of Life will take place at the same location, starting at 11:00 am.

Burial will be at Triumph Baptist Church Cemetery on January 17, 2026.
