

He accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized by the late Rev. N.W. White at Greater St. Matthews Baptist Church. In his early years he worked in the oilfield, and then later started a Window Tinting business in Las Vegas Nevada where he resided for 32 years.
Morris leaves to cherish one daughter, Shakilla (William) Lyons Jr of Houma, La. one son, Morris Micheal Carter of Cypress, TX. Nine grandchildren, Tevion, Khloe, Xavier, William III, London, Kash and Isaiah. HIs mother, Thelma Brown Coleman, three brothers Micheal Coleman of Houma, Donald Coleman of Atlanta, Ga., Tyronne (Lucretia) Coleman of Houma, Antoinette Yates of Atlanta, Ga., a longtime companion Maria Gaglia of Las Vegas, Nevada and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Merrell Jerne Stewart, his father Morris R. Coleman Sr., two sisters Patricia Ann Coleman and Sharon “Keedy” Ross, his grandparents Freddie Brown and Martha Cheatman Brown, Robert Coleman, Deborah Coleman and Lily B. Coleman
