Nathan Paul Volter, 69, of Houma, LA, died peacefully in his sleep in New Orleans on 19 April 2025.
Nate was baptized by Rev. Saulmon Thomas, Sr. He was also known by many people as a very quiet person who never complained and always had a smile on his face.
Nate’s transition was welcomed by his parents, Russell Volter, Sr. and Mildred Castle Volter; one grandchild: Tremaine Dorsey; and three brothers: Freddie Volter, Russell Volter, Jr., and Elton Volter, Sr; former companion: Gloria Dorsey.
His memory will be cherished by his companion: Gwendolyn Winslow; two daughters: Tykika Volter and Kisha Dorsey; six grandchildren; one brother: Raymond Volter; and two sisters: Listoria Dickerson and Mary Nell Thibodaux.
An 11:00 AM memorial service in honor of Nathan will be held on Friday, May 16, 2025 ar New Zion Baptist Church, 263 Grand Caillou Rd, Houma, LA. Inurnment will follow in at Woodlawn Ranch Cemetery.
