Patrel was educated in Terrebonne Parish and spent her career working as both a housekeeper and a cook—roles in which she poured her heart, her skill, and her love for caring for others. She married the love of her life, Norman Pierre, on June 28, 1995, and together they built a family rooted in devotion, laughter, and resilience.
Patrel was the proud mother of Evoyal, Raven, Wallace, Christani, Dorian, Azarian, and Sadarah, and Ty’Querias. She adored her 13 grandchildren, who brought her endless joy. She also shared a special bond with her beloved pet, Oreo Wheaton, and cherished her close friendships with Brandon and Sharron.
Patrel loved going on walks, making people laugh, and filling every room with her bright smile. As a family role model, she treasured time spent with her nieces and nephews and was known for her generosity—always willing to give her last to someone in need. Even in her passing, Patrel continued her legacy of giving by donating her organs, saving four lives and offering hope to families she never met.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Norman Pierre of Houma, LA; her sons, Wallace Jenkins, Dorian Jenkins, Taquerias Jenkins, Azarian Jenkins, and Joseph Wheaton, Jr., all of Houma, LA; her daughters, Avoyal Jenkins Wheaton, Raven Jenkins, Sadarah Jenkins, and Christani Celestine, all of Houma, LA; her brothers, Robert Jones, Anthony Jones, and Claude Jones; and her sisters, Shakena Jones and Cantrelle Jones Calloway.
She is preceded in death by her son, Raytrelle Jenkins, and her parents, Cecile Jones and James Jenkins.
Patrel will be remembered for her radiant smile, her deep love for her children and grandchildren, her kindness, and the way she made everyone around her feel seen, loved, and uplifted.
