Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until funeral time at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 7, 2017 at New Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 922 Goode Street in Houma. Burial will follow in Deweyville Cemetery.
She is survived by her son, Japhfus Brown, III.; grandsons, Delano Holmes, Mark Lawson, John Ruffin, Jason, Kenyari and Carlos Brown; granddaughters, Nefreteri Chaney and Loki Crosby; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Japhfus Brown, II.; children, Constance Holmes and Fredrick Parker; parents, Charlie and Viola Stewart Ward; sisters Viola and Almeta Ward; brothers, Joe and Earl Charles Ward; and two grandsons.
