Pearl Hicks

Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until funeral time at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at Dularge Community Baptist Church located at 549 Andrew St. in Houma. Burial will follow in New Zion Baptist Cemetery.

She was a graduate of Cheyney University, University of San Antonia, and University of the South School of Theology. She was a teacher and counselor for many years at Sleighton Farms School and later employed at Opportunity Industrialization Center of West Chester. She was a member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church and Vashti Chapter #100 Order of the Eastern Star, PHA.

She is survived by her two sons Dr. William Joseph Hicks and Richard L. Hicks; two daughters Cynthia D. Hicks and Pamela Solomon (Arthur); two grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Rev. Richard Lewis Hicks, Jr.; parents Joseph Goins and Lucy Wilson.
