Rhea Johnson, age 54, a resident of Verdunville, La., died Friday, March 5, 2010 at Ochsner Medical Center in Kenner, La. The visitation will be Friday, March 12th at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Verdunville, La., at 10:00 AM with rosary at 11:00 AM and funeral at 12:00 PM. There will also be a visitation service on Saturday, March 13th, at Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Church on St. Bernard Ave in New Orleans, La., from 9:00 AM until the funeral at 10:00 AM. The burial will take place at Resthaven Cemetery in New Orleans,La. Rhea was a member of Catholic Daughters of American #1672, Knights of Peter Claver and Ladies Auxiliary St. Jules in Franklin, La. She was a recipient of the Catholic Diocese of Lafayette Martin Luther King, Jr. Award in 2007. Rhea is survived by her husband, Lionel Johnson of Verdunville, La.; three daughters, Tori Johnson Walker (Warren) of Morgan City, La., Keia Johnson Vanderburg (Rhakeem) of Locust Grove, Ga., and Keri Johnson of New Orleans, La.; two brothers, Dewitt Lewis, Jr., and Kirk Lewis; and a sister, Deidra Lewis Pierre all of New Orleans, La.; three grandchildren, Warren M. Walker, III, of Morgan City, La., Rhasheed J. Vanderburg and Zoe S. Vanderburg both of Locust Grove, Ga.; a granddog, Ziggy; and a host of relatives and friends. Rhea was preceded in death by her parents Dewitt and Ruth Lewis, her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Lionel and Marion Johnson, Sr., her grandparents, a god-son and her god-parents.
