2nd Timothy 4: 7-8 “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge,
will award to me on that day, and not only to me, but also to all who have loved his appearing.”
Ronald Johnson Sr. was born on February 20th, 1954, to the late Clara Mae Robinson and the late Isaac Johnson Jr. Ronald was baptized at an early age. He served proudly in the US Army. Ronald was a man of quiet strength and profound humility with an unwavering commitment to God. His walk with the Lord was sincere and steadfast. In his church, Open Door Outreach Ministry, he served with integrity and grace; whether in prayer, music ministry, custodian, cooking, mentoring or quiet acts of service.
Ronald’s love for his family could not be compared. He was a very devoted husband to his wife and Pastor Overseer, Thelma Janell Johnson. They were happily married for 28 blessed years. His love for his wife was deep and truly a relationship built on faith, mutual respect and loyalty. You never saw one without the other!
Roy was a teacher, protector and a constant source of encouragement to his children. He taught them the value of family, honesty, integrity and faith. His wisdom touched everyone who met him. His words carried weight, not because they were loud, but full of truth and compassion. People sought his counsel, trusted his insight and were comforted by his demeanor. Being in his presence was definitely experiencing God’s goodness. Although our hearts are saddened by his absence, we find peace in knowing that Deacon Roy now walks beside the savior he faithfully served.
