Rousell "Mr. Rou" Thomas, Sr.

Visitation will be observed on Friday, February 28, 2020 at New Salem Baptist Church, 1412 Cherry St. Patterson, LA at 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM. A  Celebration of Life service will be held at 12 Noon at the Patterson Civic Center. Mr. Rou will be laid to rest in the Home Industrial Cemetery in Patterson, LA. Reverend Samuel Calhoun will officiate the services.

Memories of Rousell, Sr., or Mr. Rou as he was known to many, will forever remain in the hearts of his four sons, Elder Rousell (Georgette) of Newport News, VA, George A. (Katrinea)Thomas of Gray, LA, and Gerald J. (Lynn) Thomas and Edward D. Thomas both of Patterson, LA; three daughters, Kathy M. Thomas of Patterson, LA, Angela T. (Dennis) Griffin of Cameron, NC and Anita T. (Darrell) Dewey of Zachary, LA; one brother, Matthew Thomas, Sr.; a sister, Hattie G. (Charles) Wilson both of Patterson, LA; fifteen grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Rousell, Sr. was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Thomas; his parents, Ivory Thomas, Sr. and Kate Hartman Thomas; a grandson, Adrian Green; a great-granddaughter, Amara L. Pegues and a brother, Ivory Thomas, Jr.
