Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. until funeral services at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday September 11, 2021 at the Christ Gospel Church 1206 Red Cypress Road Patterson, LA 70392. (All visitors are asked to adhere to the CDC/local regulations by wearing masks and practicing social distancing.) Burial will follow in the Morgan City Cemetery in Morgan City, LA

Memories of Sallie Mae will forever remain in the hearts of her children, Toni Friels, Clemous (Anita) Mingo, Jarenda Friels, Gale (Cecil) Brown all of Morgan City, LA, Keith Walker of Opelousas, LA, Latasha Jones and Ashley Francois all of Berwick, LA, Tammy Smith of Houma, LA, and Vanessa Mingo of Houston, TX; siblings, Ava Green of Tennesse, Charles (Bridget) Smith of Beaumont, TX and James (Myrtle) Smith of Dallas, TX; Alice Friels and Margaret Smith both of Evergreen, LA; Hazel Acclis and Dorothy Smith both of Beaumont, TX, Cathleen Smith of Dallas, TX, Lydia Smith of Marksville, LA, Eileen Bienvenu of Gibson, LA, Veronica (Marvin) Francis of Opelousas, LA and Jina Mingo of Morgan City,  LA; two god-children, Monique Walker of Morgan City, LA and Neasha (Jason) Walker-Semien of Opelousas, LA; seventeen grandchildren, twenty-six great-grandchildren and a host nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. 

Sallie Mae was preceded in death by her daughter, Dana Latrice Friels; grandson, Toni Green, Nhirobi Dewey and Eric Howard, ; husband, Burnell T. Wesley; parents, Frankie James Smith, Sr. and Beulah Dobbins; brothers, Edward Charles, Roosevelt Smith, Frankie James, Jr., Donald Ray Smith and a sister, Audrey Anderson, a brother-in-law, Late Pastor Kennedy Green.
