

Sandra Fletcher Celestine a native of Gibson, LA a resident of Thibodaux, LA. Sandra was a humble loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was born to the late Samson Fletcher and Ezeldia Batman Harding on December 25th, 1947, in New Orleans, LA. She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized by the late Rev. H. Carbo at Triumph Baptist Church in Gibson, LA. She was a graduate of Southdown High school class of 1965 and Delta Community College in New Orleans where she received her degree in Business Administration. She was known for her great cooking especially sweet potato pies, tea cakes and fried bread. She was a God-fearing woman of great wisdom who loved spending time with her family. She was a family of four generations, Her passion was cooking, watching football, old western movies and reading. Sandra was a chef at Chester’s Restaurant in Donner, LA for many years. Serving in Sunlight Baptist Church as a Sunday School Teacher, Usher, Chairperson of numerous church programs and Ministering to the patrons of The Oaks Nursing Home of Houma. S Civic and Social organizations she served as a member of Golden Leaf Chapter #107 Order of Eastern Star for 30+Years
Visitation will held from 9:00 AM until Celebration of Life at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 8th, 2025 at House of Prayer 2229 LA-3185 Thibodaux, LA 70301 Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery.
Sandra is survived by her children, Min. Eddie Celestine Jr.(Debra), Orlando Celestine (Becky) Andre Celestine (Brandy) Ezeldia Celestine; brothers, Payton Harding (Christi) Donnie Seymore sister-in-laws, Barbara Seymore and Ethel Mae C. Majors; brother-in-law, Slyvester Celestine Sr; fourteen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren; two godchildren, Loretta Shanklin and Trevira Lewis and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Sandra was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Celestine Sr; her parents, Samson Fletcher and Ezeldia Bateman Harding; her siblings, Alnettia Seymore Tamner, Edward Seymore Jr., Vannessa B. Evans, Harriesse Verrett, Warren Harding, Wilbert Verrett and Adrain Harding; great- granddaughter, Chrislynn Prince, and one God daughter Gaynell Major
