A public viewing will be conducted from 12:00 p.m. until 2 p.m. on Friday, June 11, 2021. Burial will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Smith Hester; sons, Sean Hester, Jr., Damien Word, Tyron Turner, DeSean Sylvester, Reandell Poindexter (Amira) and Anfernee Poindexter; daughters, LaJoyce Word, Rashawn Read (Mario) and Shavonta Poindexter; fifteen grandchildren; father, Norris Hester; brother, Otis Lawson; sister, Kim Charles (Javar); and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Joyce Pharr Hester; paternal grandparents, Warren and Irene Hawkins Hester; maternal grandparents, Theophilus, Sr. and Zenobia Aldridge Pharr.
