Shirley ""SHORT SHIRLEY"" Austin, age 74, a resident of Franklin, died Tuesday, July 20th at 11:17 AM at Franklin Foundation Hospital. Visitation will be at Jones Funeral Home in Franklin, Monday, July 26th from 9:00 AM until funeral at 11:00 AM. Burial will take place in the Franklin Main St. Cemetery. Shirley was survived by her husband, John Austin, Sr. of Verdunville; three sons, Melvin (Debra) Jones of Franklin, Kenneth (Gertrude) Jones of Baton Rouge and Terry (Carla) Jones of Glenco, La; a daughter, Mrs. Donald Ray (Helen) Jones of Houma, La., seven half-brothers, Jerry Fontenot, Clarence Grimm, David Grimm, James Fontenot, Ray Fontenot, Thomas Fontenot all of Franklin, La., and Claude Grimm of Houston, ten grandchildren, six great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Aaron & Helen Edward Williams, a sister, Maria Jack and her brothers, Alex Fontenot, Youree Fontenot and William Augustine.
