Sylvia "Aunt Sil" Marie Ward-Wiles

A public walk through viewing will be observed on Wednesday, October 14, 2020 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Jones Funeral Home 604 Lovette Street Jeanerette, LA 70544. Visitation will resume on Thursday October 15, 2020 from 8:00 AM until the recitation of the rosary at 9:45 AM at the Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church in Jeanerette, LA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM (All visitors are asked to adhere to the CDC/local regulations by wearing masks and practicing social distancing) with Father Francis Damoah, SVD serving as the Celebrant. Sylvia will be laid to rest in Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church Cemetery. 

Embracing the memories of Sylvia Marie Ward-Wiles are her son , Embrick (Tarnisha) Boutte of New Iberia, LA, her husband of many years, Larry Anderson Wiles and her mother, Shirley C. Ward both of Jeanerette, LA; her siblings, Paul Ward of Loureauville, LA, Victoria Ward and Idell (John) Broussard all of Jeanerette, LA; three special grandsons, whom she reared as her own sons, Gerrell "Skip" Johnlewis, Sr., Bryson "Duke" Johnlewis and JaBryson "Bug" Johnlewis; her special grandchildren, whom she loved, Kaleb, Kalen, Kayshon, Mekhi, Bryce, Maya and Malani Boutte, Gabrielle and Gerrell Johnlewis, Jr., Graelon Johnlewis and Bryson "B.J." Johnlewis, Jr; one great-granddaughter, Kaylon Marie Boutte; her special nieces and nephews, who knew her as "Aunt Sil," which include Jamie N. (Tavoris) Marks, Apral (Sedric) Ashley, Phillip "Shabaz" Ward, Heather M. Burgess, Hillary Burgess, Ken'Nadi J. Broussard, Tyrusha, Nikki, Terry and Ross Charles; her god-children, Angela Richard and Jaidon Ward; her extended family, whom she loved and reared as her own kids, Evelyn (Rob) King of Port Arthur, TX. Sonia Johnlewis and Charles Johnlewis of New Iberia, LA; brothers and sisters-in-law, Harry (Margaret) Wiles of Arnauldville, LA, Georgia (James) Garner of Newark, NJ, Mona  (Henry) Lowery of Tallahassee, FL, Katherine Henry of San Diego, CA, Aarron (Celestine) Wiles, Kenneth Wiles and Lola Wiles all of Jeanerette, LA, John Henry (Debra) Wiles and Barry Wiles, both of New Iberia, LA and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.

Sylvia was preceded in death by her father, Joseph "Tanue" Ward, Jr.; her maternal grandparents, Corrine and Charlie Sorrell; paternal grandparents, Idell "Fema" and Joseph C. Ward, Sr.; one sister, Linda Marie Ward; one brother, Jerry Lee "Cooney" Ward; one niece, La Chondia Ward; her father-in-law, Frank Wiles, Sr.; her mother-in-law, Florence Marie Wiles; two sisters-in-law, Consuela Ward and Diane Charles; a son she reared, Elton Johnlewis and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
