

Sylvia Harding, a resident of Dularge was called to eternal peace on Thursday, June 26, 2025. She was born to the late Alvin and Clara Riley Harding. She was baptized by Pastor Isaac Henderson Riley Sr.
Sylvia graduated from Terrebonne High School in 1973 and went on to Meadows Drone Business School in New Orleans. She worked for the state of Louisiana as a Clerical worker and Clerical Supervisor at Chabert Medical Center, and at the Terrebonne Parish Food Stamp Office. After retirement, she became a substitute Para for Terrebonne Parish School Board. Her message to the students was “Get your High School and College education so that you can buy a house and a car”. Another passion was buying all the candy the Dollar store had and serving it to the church members. Watching the members take the candy gave her great pleasure. Last but not least, she was a big Saints fan, and her favorite expression was “Who Dat, Who Dat, Who Dat”.
Visitation will be Thursday July 3rd, 2025, at 9am until Funeral service at 11am New First Corinthians Baptist Church 1114 Church St. Houma, LA Interment will follow service St Luke Baptist Church Cemetery 1098 Dularge Road Houma, LA 70363
She is survived by her son Jarmar Harding and daughter Kamyle Lowndes. She is also survived by her brothers Alvin Harding Jr., James Harding (Charlotte), Glenn Harding, Warren Harding (Gwen). Sisters Joyce Allen, and Joan Short (Sterling). Grandchildren Jasmyn, Kamyri and Kymani Harding, loving aunts, Hazel Franklin, Charlotte Shepherd and Velma Ellis. Uncles Hayward Harding and Henry Riley (Denise), loving neighbor Francis Wesley and devoted long time friends Inez Elum and Wilmer Mcguire and host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Alvin and Clara Riley Harding, grandparents Henry and Ollie Stewart Harding, Joseph and Ruth Tyler Riley, sister Barbara Jean Harding and nephew Damien L. Short
