Ta-Tanshia Carbin, age 31, a resident of Morgan City and a native of Lafayette, died Saturday, April 16, 2011 at 5:15 AM at her residence after a long illness. Visitation will be held at Jones Funeral Home in Morgan City, Wednesday, April 20, 2011 from 9:00 AM until funeral at 11:00 AM. Burial in the Morgan City Cemetery. Ta-Tanshia leaves to cherish her memory; her mother, Orelia deGraffenaried of Morgan City, her father, Alvin Robinson, Sr. of Morgan City, three brothers, Lawrence Carbin and Alvin Robinson, Jr., both of Morgan City, and Eris Robinson of Lafayette; three sisters, Tanishia Gray and Latonya deGraffenaried both of Lafayette and Ninette Robinson Williams of Patterson; and a host of uncles, aunts, relatives and friends. Also leaves her godmother, Olanda Gray of Lafayette, La., and godfather, Gillis Carbin, Sr. of Morgan City, La. Preceded in death by her grandparents, Rose Mary Carbin and Sylvester Carbin, Sr.
