Graveside service will be held in the Woodlawn Ranch Cemetery, Jim Bowie Road Houma, Louisiana on Friday, August 15, 2025 at 11:00 AM.

Tawana was born on September 7, 1972, in Houma, Louisiana to Reneta Calloway Verret and Carlton Verrett Sr. she was known as the life of the party by family and friends. Tawana was a person who when you met her for the first time, you saw a genuinely nice person who kept a smile on her face. For many who knew “Bird”.

Memories of Tawana will forever remains in the hearts of her children: Tia Verrett and Robert Wilson III, she is survived by her sisters, Wanda Miller, Armenta Verrett, Alenia Verrett, Gwendolyn Davis, Angela Scott (Jerome), and Kathy Verrett (Jay Wayne): brothers, Bruce Miller, Gary Morris, Reginald Verrett and Michael Sims; family friend, Dr. Nedra Allen and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Twana was preceded in death by her parents, Reneta Calloway and Carlton Verrett Sr., brothers, Andre Calloway Sr., Carlton Verrett Jr., and Mark Anthony Verrett, nephew, Andre Calloway Jr. and cousins, Leslie Banks, Sana Shareef and Kahaleea Isom and maternal grandparent Befort and Evelyn Calloway paternal grandparents Eula Verrett Calloway and Rev Willie Ruffin Sr
