Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until funeral time at the church. The funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 20 at Morning Star Baptist Church located at 4111 Hwy 308 in Raceland, LA with Rev. Preston L. Scarbrough officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his wife Carolyn Scarbrough Smith; sons, Thomas J. Smith, Jr. and Armond J. Smith (Lalah); daughters, Davita S. Robinson (Jomar), Sandy Ellis (Roosevelt) and Joan Randall (Marvin); nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother, Lawrence Major (Verna); sisters, Velma Ferrell (James), Hilda Hall and Rose Jones.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest S. and Druzella Clay Smith; brothers, Ernest, Jr. and Junior Smith, Sr.; sisters, Esther Joseph and Cora Grundy.
