Vernon Singleton, Sr., age 36, a native and a resident of Morgan City, La., died Saturday, March 30, 2013 at 10:50 AM in Bayou Vista, La. Visitation will be Friday, April 12, 2013 at Siracusa Recreation Center in Morgan City, La., from 9:00 AM until funeral service at 11:00 AM. Vernon leaves to cherish his memories; his mother, Deloris E. Johnson and stepfather, James ""Jimmie"" Johnson, Sr., both of Morgan City, La; and raised by, Beverly Vernon Singleton of Amelia, La; two sons, Vernon Singleton, Jr., of Morgan City, La., and Kahyson Legnon of Bayou Lourse, La; three daughters, Ariel D. Singleton of West Lake, La., Alira Clark of Morgan City, La., and Armonie Alfred of Dequincy, La; two brothers, Charles Charlot, Sr., and Frederick Charlot both of Morgan City, La; two stepbrothers, Ronnie Johnson and James Johnson, Jr., both of Lafayette, La; two sisters, Lynette Singleton of Morgan City and Ronyneisha Jules of Berwick, La; his godmother, Myra Delco of Berwick, La., and a host of relatives and friends. Preceded in death by maternal and paternal grandparents, and his father, Clarence Bateman.
