William Short, age 86, a resident of Amelia and a native of Gibson, La., died Thursday, October 7th at his residence at 4:05 AM. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 12th at Church of Christ in Gibson, La., from 9:00 AM until funeral at 11:00 AM. Burial in church cemetery. William leaves to cherish him memories, a son, Henry Short of California, a brother, Norris Short, Sr. of Gibson; two sisters, Betty Mitchell of Gibson and Ruth Singleton of Morgan City, and a host of family and friends. William was preceded in death by his parents.
