

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 6, 2024, at Jones Funeral Home Chapel, 230 S. Hollywood Rd., Houma, LA 70360 at 11:00 AM.
Yourick Lavine, Jr. was born in Ville Platte, LA on August 1, 1947, to the union of the late Yourick Lavine, Sr. and Antonia Roberts. He was baptized Catholic at an early age.
Yourick was employed by Gov. Jimmy Davis for many years. He then moved to Houma, LA where he met and married Cynthia Smith Lavine. Yourick went on to work for several different companies, always providing for his family.
Yourick was a passionate and loving protector of his family and friends. He loved working, talking to his friends, and most of all being with his family. Yourick was definitely the jokester of the family. He had a joke or a funny story for everyone he met.
Yourick’s hobbies were fishing, watching sports, and watching cowboy movies.
After retiring, he then went on to start his own companies, including Southland Construction and Southeast Creations, along with his devoted wife.
Left in God’s care to cherish his memories, his loving wife of 43 years, Cynthia Smith Lavine; His children: Daughter, Angela Lavigne; Sons, Yourick Lavine, III (Sharrie), Chad M. Smith, Sr.(Jerne), and Troy Bradley, all of Houma, LA; One Brother, Alfred Hall, Jr. (Evette); Sisters-in-law, Catherine Lavine, Bertha Lavine; 16 Grandchildren, 18 Great Grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Yourick Lavine, Sr., and Antonia Roberts; Brothers, Joseph and Rogers Lavine, sister-in-law, Angelina Lavine; one Son, Cody L. Smith.
