Joleen Foster, 88, died in Atascocita, Texas on July 7, 2019, surrounded by her family. Joleen was born on August 20, 1930 in El Paso, Texas, to Ora Bandy Huddleston and Joe Huddleston. Joleen graduated high school from Weston High School, Weston, West Virginia and attended Trinity University in San Antonio. She married the love of her life, Bill Foster, on August 21, 1953. They were married almost 62 years until Bill’s death in July 2014. Happily, they are now together again. They lived in Castroville, Texas for over 35 years where they raised three children; Brett, Gene, and Tita.
Joleen will be especially remembered for her involvement and leadership in many Castroville community organizations and activities including the Castroville Garden Club and Medina County Quilters. She opened her flower shop “Flowers by Joleen” in the Castroville Drug Store and enjoyed many years of flower arranging for Castroville and the surrounding communities.
Survivors include: Children: Brett Foster, Gene Foster (Denise), Tita Foster Scott; Sister: Barbara Beever; Grandchildren: Taryn B. Hogan (Edward), Chris Foster (Vanessa), Stuart Foster (Mandy), Andrea Foster, Katie Scott, Hanna Foster, Richard Dean Foster, Great Grandson: Jorah Hogan; Step Grandchildren: Christopher James, Desi, Jackie, and numerous nephews and nieces.
