Abbie Miller Lamberson

Abbie Carolyn Miller was born on March 6, 1932 in Cameron County, Texas and went to be with our Lord and Savior on May 28, 2015 after a long illness. She entered the Lutheran Faith because of her participation in the Walther League. She graduated High School in Rio Hondo, Texas, and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Texas A&I in Kingsville, Texas. While teaching school in Alice, Texas, she met her husband of almost 62 years, Gilbert Lamberson. Gilbert and Abbie married on August 15, 1953. Abbie continued as an educator by teaching in Flora, Illinois, and by tutoring ex-patriate children in various countries around the world. Abbie made homes with Gilbert in Venezuela, Argentina, France, Australia, Nigeria, and the USA. A Houston resident since 1971, Abbie’s greatest loves were The Word, her kids, cooking, quilting, and tennis. Abbie is preceded in death by her parents, George and Folva Miller, brothers George and Edward Miller, and sister Alice Miller Kite. She is survived by her husband Gilbert, son George and wife Lisa, son Robert and wife Diane, sister Marilyn Miller Poppe, and numerous nephews, family, and friends. Grandchildren are Amanda, Geoffrey, Grace, Rory, and Maryann.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Our Savior Lutheran Church – Forward Faithfully Fund or Houston SPCA.

Visitation will be held from 6-8pm, Sunday, May 31, 2015 at Pat H. Foley & Company Funeral Home.

Services will be held at 10am, Monday, June 1, 2015 at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 5000 W. Tidwell, Houston 77091.
