Adam Graham Baker

Adam Graham Baker, 56, of Flint, TX, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, June 11, in Guyana while on offshore assignment. He is survived by his father, Robert Baker; his sister, Lara Baker Whelan; his children Clemente Rodriguez IV and Alexsandra Marie Rodriguez; his grandchildren Jonathan, Emma, Clemente V and Noah; and his niece, Bonnie Bragdon. He was preceded in death by his mother, Gayle Catherine Baker.

Born in Naperville, IL, Adam was an adventurous spirit with a laugh that could light up a room. He never met a stranger, and he loved being surrounded by friends and family at every opportunity. After moving to Houston in 1980, Adam built a network of lifelong friends, in part through his participation in Boy Scouts, who often joined him on his escapades: skydiving, motorcycling or any other thrilling activity he could think of. He had recently rediscovered his early love of car audio systems, and won prizes in every competition he entered with his state-of-the-art truck. He was enormously proud of his work with ExxonMobil, where he worked offshore as a network operations analyst for over 25 years, but he was even more proud of the family he built over the years.

It was a life cut short all too soon. Adam will be remembered for his love of animals (especially his dog Maggie), his generosity, his humor, his enthusiasm for his many hobbies, and his positive outlook on life, but most of all, he will be remembered as a loving son, a beloved father, a doting grandfather, a steadfast friend, and a good man.
